Printing the Imagined
The distance between imagination and physical reality is rapidly disappearing.
What fascinates me most about today's technologies is how quickly the distance between an idea and its physical realization is disappearing.
3D printing is already being used to create objects at many different scales. New materials and production methods make it possible to realize forms that only recently seemed too complex or almost impossible.
And this is only the beginning. Perhaps very soon, almost any complex, individual form could be brought into physical reality within just a few days.
We live at an extraordinary moment when almost everything that exists in the imagination is gradually becoming possible to materialize.
This is how I see the future of LightCode: one idea moving freely across different scales — from jewellery and sculpture to architecture and flying objects.
What if almost everything we can imagine could become physical within just a few days?
